You will be required to have a government Gateway account and a permanent National Insurance number in order to use this service. By registering to online tax credit service, you automatically activate your personal tax account to get consolidated review of your HMRC transaction details and records. You will also be required to provide identity proof. HMRC will accept any the following as a valid identity proof:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.certaxlondon.co.uk\/news\/what-is-a-p60-form\/\">Form P60<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Last three payslips<\/li>\n<li>Passport number with expiry date<\/li>\n<li>An operational bank account detail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The online service can also help you renew your tax credit payments if you have received a renewal pack via post. For renewing, you will need your National Insurance Number and details about why and how your work or family life has changed. Don\u2019t confuse tax credit payment dates. You will have to report your as well as your partner\u2019s income for the last tax year i.e. \u00a0\u00a06<sup>th<\/sup> April of 2017 to 5<sup>th<\/sup> \u00a0April of 2018 in case of most recent tax year. Your\u00a0 tax credit next payment date is 31<sup>st<\/sup> July 2018. \u00a0Make sure you call the tax credit helpline if you don&#8217;t receive your renewal pack by 26<sup>th<\/sup> of June.<\/p>\n<p>As said, \u00a0a change in your family life or work life can impact your tax credit. Report changes as soon as possible. In case you already have been paid and later discover that your tax credit payments were less than what you were paid, you will have to return the over payment. Apart from online reporting you can also report by phone or by post. Fines for not reporting changes; intentionally or by mistake, can vary from \u00a3300 to \u00a33000 depending on individual circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>You may also be eligible for child tax credit payments if you have children under 16 in your responsibility. In case the child is in eligible education or training, the age bracket can go up to 20 years. \u00a0While child tax credit payments won\u2019t be affected by other child benefits, your child tax credit next payment will be affected by whether you are claiming for first time or have previously claimed. There is no condition of your working to be eligible for this tax credit.
